Summer Reading Programs

About Me

My name is Laura Quiroz; I am currently a Master's student in the Library Science program at SHSU. I taught kinder for six years and I have been a librarian for two.  I work as a librarian in an elementary pre-k - 5th.  I will be going on my ninth year in the PSJA ISD school district. This site is an independent study I conducted over the summer on how libraries encourage children, tweens and teens to read.  It is so important for children to continue reading, learning and participating in activities during the summer months.  I went to several libraries in the Rio Grand Valley to see what programs they were providing our summer readers and how they encouraged them to keep reading.
